I'M OK

I AM OK

A private family check-in app for elderly family members.

What it does

I AM OK is a small iPhone app made for a single elderly user. Each morning, the user taps one big green button on a black screen and a short status text — "Dad: I'm OK — 9:14 AM" — is sent to a small list of his immediate family members. A second, red button sends "Dad: I NEED HELP — 9:14 AM" and also dials a primary emergency contact.

The app is privately distributed via TestFlight to one family. It is not on the App Store. There is no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics, no commercial purpose.

How family members are added

The family-member caregiver who sets up the app for the elderly user manually enters each recipient's name and phone number in the app's settings screen, after obtaining the recipient's explicit verbal consent in person or by phone. All recipients are immediate family members of the user.

The first text a recipient receives identifies the sender by name (e.g. "Dad: I'm OK — 9:14 AM"). Recipients may revoke consent at any time by asking the caregiver to remove them, which is done immediately via the same settings screen.

What recipients receive

This is not an emergency service

I AM OK is not a substitute for 911 or any monitored medical-alert service. Message delivery depends on cellular networks and may be delayed or fail. In a life-threatening situation, call 911 directly.
