CheckIn Privacy Policy

CheckIn is a private iPhone app made by Model Train Technology LLC for a single family's use. It lets one user (typically an elderly family member) tap a button to send a brief status text — "I'm OK" or "I NEED HELP" — to a manually-entered list of family member phone numbers. This policy describes what data the app handles.

What we collect

• Recipient names and phone numbers that the user enters in the app's settings screen. Stored locally on the user's iPhone only.
• Timestamps of check-ins the user has sent. Stored locally on the user's iPhone only.
• The text of messages the user sends ("I'm OK" / "I NEED HELP" with a timestamp). Passed to our SMS provider for delivery; not retained by us beyond that.

What we don't collect

No analytics, no advertising IDs, no location, no contacts list, no account sign-up, no cloud sync of recipient data.

Third parties

• Twilio delivers the SMS messages. See Twilio's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare hosts the small relay function that forwards the app's message to Twilio. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Your rights

Recipients who no longer wish to receive messages may ask the app user to remove them from the list. The user removes them via the app's settings screen; no further messages will be sent to that number.
